Expert Midwives Supporting Families Through Pregnancy, Birth and Early Parenthood

At Baby On Board, we believe families deserve more than rushed appointments and fragmented information.

We provide midwife-led education, guidance and support that helps you understand your options, navigate maternity care with confidence, and feel truly prepared for the arrival of your baby.

Founded by practising midwives Amy Gibson and Carly Gudgeon, Baby On Board was created to offer families something many maternity services struggle to provide:

time, clarity and personalised support from expert midwives who understand the journey ahead.

WHY BABY ON BOARD EXISTS

After many years working within NHS maternity services, we repeatedly saw the same challenge.

Families often left appointments with important questions still unanswered.

Questions like:

What happens if labour doesn’t go to plan?

How do I know what my real options are?

What does informed choice actually mean in practice?

How do we prepare for the first weeks with a newborn?

These are the conversations families deserve time for.

That is the gap Baby On Board was created to fill.

Through expert antenatal education, workshops and personalised midwife support, we help families feel informed, prepared and confident as they navigate pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.

We support families across Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and surrounding areas, as well as offering online consultations across the UK.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is simple:

To provide midwife-led education and support that helps families feel calm, informed and confident as they prepare for one of life’s biggest transitions.

Pregnancy affects far more than physical health.

It shapes emotions, relationships and identity as you prepare to become parents.

You deserve support that recognises the whole experience — not just the clinical aspects of pregnancy and birth.

MEET THE FOUNDERS — AMY & CARLY

Two Midwives with One Shared Purpose

Amy and Carly founded Baby On Board after many years working as midwives within NHS maternity services.

They loved supporting families during pregnancy and birth, but they also recognised that many families needed more time, explanation and preparation than standard appointments could provide.

Baby On Board was created to offer a different kind of experience — one where families could:

  • learn at their own pace

  • receive personalised guidance

  • understand their options before decisions arise

  • build confidence navigating maternity care

  • feel supported throughout pregnancy and early parenthood

Together, Amy and Carly bring decades of senior midwifery experience to every class, workshop and consultation.

Their expertise includes:

antenatal education

birth preparation

caesarean birth preparation

infant feeding support

newborn and infant sleep education

biomechanics for birth

baby and child first aid

family-centred maternity care

Most importantly, they bring the insight that comes from supporting thousands of families through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.

WHY FAMILIES CHOOSE BABY ON BOARD

Families choose Baby On Board because they want trusted guidance from professionals who truly understand maternity care.

Our approach combines clinical expertise with thoughtful, personalised support.

Start with Clarity

Early pregnancy can feel disorienting. There’s information everywhere, yet it's often lacking context.

We help you find your footing.

Through clear, evidence-based guidance and accessible resources, we support families who are:

Early in pregnancy

Beginning to think about birth

Unsure where to start

Feeling overwhelmed by conflicting advice

This stage is about orientation, reassurance, and understanding, helping you feel less lost and more steady.

A PERSONAL, RELATIONSHIP-LED APPROACH

At Baby On Board, education and support are always personal.

Every family arrives with different questions, priorities and hopes for their birth and early parenting experience.

Our role is to provide clear information, practical guidance and supportive conversations that help you feel confident making decisions for your family.

You are never treated as just another booking.

You are a family preparing for one of life’s most important transitions.

SUPPORT BEYOND BIRTH

Learning does not stop when your baby arrives — and neither do the questions.

Many families return to Baby On Board in the early days and weeks because they want more time, reassurance and practical support than fragmented postnatal appointments can offer.

Postnatal support includes:

  • infant feeding support (breastfeeding, formula feeding and combination feeding)

  • newborn and infant sleep support

  • midwife consultations or home visits for reassurance and guidance

  • support navigating the early weeks of parenting

Our goal is to provide calm, expert support when you need it most — helping you feel confident as you find your rhythm as a new family.
