Antenatal & Pregnancy Questions

When should I start antenatal classes?

Most parents book between 20-28 weeks of pregnancy and attend classes around 30-36 weeks. That timing gives you enough preparation without overwhelming you too early. That said, it's never too early to start learning if you want to feel more prepared sooner.

What topics are covered in antenatal classes?

Our antenatal classes cover labour preparation, pain relief options, birth planning, breathing and relaxation techniques, and partner-inclusive guidance. We also offer specialist workshops on topics like caesarean birth, biomechanics for easier labour, preparing for breastfeeding, first aid and newborn sleep.

Can partners attend antenatal classes?

Yes. All our classes and workshops are partner-inclusive. Partners learn practical techniques, their role during labour, and how to confidently support you through birth and early parenthood.

Are your classes evidence-based?

Absolutely. Our sessions are led by qualified midwives and based on current research and NHS guidelines combined with holistic, family-centred practices.

Do you offer classes for parents with previous birth experiences?

Yes. Our courses work for both first-time parents and those who've had children before. We adapt content to meet your experience and needs. Many second-time parents join us because they want to do things differently this time or want updated guidance.

Birth Preparation & Specialist Workshops

What specialist workshops are available?

We offer focused workshops including:

Caesarean birth preparation

Moving for an easier birth (biomechanics)

Preparing to breastfeed

Newborn sleep support

First Aid Awareness

Grandparents' workshops

How do these workshops help with birth preparation?

Specialist workshops give you practical skills, confidence-building techniques, and strategies to reduce labour discomfort and improve birth outcomes. Partners also learn how to provide effective support - not just be present, but actually help.

Can workshops be booked individually or as a package?

Both. Families can choose single sessions or a series of workshops depending on what you need.

Are workshops available online?

Yes. Many of our workshops are offered online UK-wide, with interactive demonstrations and live Q&A sessions.

Postpartum, Breastfeeding & Newborn Care

What support do you provide for breastfeeding?

Our midwife-led sessions cover:

Latching and positioning

Feeding schedules and newborn behaviour

Potential challenges like low supply or soreness

How partners can provide practical support

How can I help my baby sleep better?

We teach safe, gentle, and evidence-based sleep strategies for newborns. You'll learn to understand your baby's sleep cues, and manage night waking in ways that support both baby and parent wellbeing. We don't do sleep training for newborns - we teach you what's developmentally normal and how to work with your baby's natural rhythms.

Is postnatal emotional support available?

Yes. Our sessions address anxiety, stress, bonding, and confidence during early parenthood. We also provide guidance for connecting with local support networks.

Can partners attend postpartum support sessions?

Absolutely. All sessions are partner-inclusive. Partners learn practical ways to support both you and your newborn.

Online Classes & Flexible Learning

How do online classes work?

After booking, you receive access to a secure video platform. Sessions are live and interactive with demonstrations.

Are online classes suitable for all parents?

Yes. Online sessions work for parents across the UK, including those with scheduling constraints, limited transport options, or families living outside Kent.

Can I ask questions during online sessions?

Definitely. We encourage interaction and provide real-time Q&A opportunities to make sure all your questions get answered.
